TESTIMONIAL ON THE IMPACT OF THE DONATION OF TABLETS TO THE CLASS OF 2021 AND 2022

The matric class of 2021 and 2022 benefitted greatly from the sponsorship of tablets by the Grind Foundation. Many of our FLY learners do not have access to smart devices (neither tablets nor smart phones or laptops). This made learning and accessing various resources incredibly difficult during the tight lockdowns imposed by the government over the COVID-19 pandemic. These tablets helped them with the following:

  • FLY tutors could continue providing online tutoring services. These were no longer restricted to Saturday sessions. Learners could ask questions on demand and receive guidance for exam preparation and class work.

  • Learners could access content which was made available by the government to ensure that the syllabus was covered as there was limited time in class during the lockdowns.

  • Learners could access past papers through SMOL app which is a partner that FLY worked with during COVID to provide content.

  • Learners used the tablets to apply for various opportunities including, but not limited to tertiary study, bursaries and jobs.

From FLY to the Grind, thank you for your support and sponsorship.
